Summer Concert Series Kicks off June 13 with Japanese Drum Ensemble

Our much-loved Summer Concert Series is back! We’ve brought you six years of wonderful, weird and inspiring music and this year we plan on upping the ante. Thanks to the Friends of the Ferndale Library, our Summer Concert Series is better than ever.

Raion Taiko will feature a quartet of professional Japanese drum artists, with a range of percussive instruments, including an Odaiko, a drum carved from a single tree spanning three ft in diameter. The harmonious Taiko drum arrangements developed out of a tradition sprung from Japanese folklore, dating back more than a thousand years.

This event is free and all ages are welcome. Please note that the performance will be 45 minutes long, please arrive on time so you don’t miss any of this exhilarating spectacle!
