Ferndale Reads: PJ from Go Comedy! Recommends…

This new series features book recommendations from famous Ferndalians, community members, business owners, various movers/shakers, and, really, any ardent book lovers in town… Not sure what you to read next?? Maybe one of your neighbors could help!

Our third installment features a selection from PJ Jacokes.  Pj is the Producer of Go Comedy. He has been an actor and improviser in the Detroit area since 1997. Before opening Go Comedy! in 2008, Pj was the Head Instructor at The Second City, Detroit. Locally, he is likely most familiar from Hungry Howies’ long-running “Ad Guys” commercials.

PJ’s book recommendation can be found through Ferndale Library’s online catalog…

Time Traveler: A Scientist’s Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality by Dr. Ronald Mallett

PJ  Jacokes:
“Since I was a little kid I have always been fascinated by time travel. Not only in science fiction, but in the idea that in my lifetime it could be a possibility.
Time Traveler: A Scientist’s Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality is the true story of one man’s quest to make it real. When he was 10-years old Theoretical Physicist Dr. Ronald Mallett’s father suddenly passed away. From that day forward, Dr. Mallett made it his life’s mission to make science fiction a reality, with the hopes that eventually he could go back and talk to his Dad one last time.
Having recently lost my Mom, the book resonates even more than it did the first time I read it. It’s really a beautiful story of love and drive and persistence in the face of the impossible.
Visit Go Comedy! this Thursday for “The Skit Parade” at 8pm  and then at 9pm for “Teacher’s Lounge”
