You can use your Ferndale Library card to instantly start streaming movies, music, or MP3 Audiobooks. Here’s a testimonial from one of our Circulation Specalists, Griffin, talking about a punk rock album that’s otherwise been hard to find in the regular circulating library network–and yet, here it is, on Hoopla!

Walk Among Us” by Misfits (available as a Hoopla Digital Download)

Imagine a Frankenstein-esque mix of B-movie horror and sci-fi tropes and early punk rock music; that amalgam is the Misfits. Unlike most of the punk music from the late seventies and early eighties, there are no social or political themes here. Instead, you get songs about turning into aliens, collecting severed heads, and annihilating the human race. However strange those summaries might sound, the lyrics mesh perfectly with the high-tempo punk music, making sure you will remember the songs. We do not have a physical copy of this album at the library, but it is available through our Hoopla streaming service, so if you are in the mood for some horror-inspired punk, give the Misfits a try.
