Library To Re-Open on Fridays

Ferndale citizens went to the polls on August 2nd and voted in support of replacing the Ferndale Area District Library’s millage for 10 years more, to restore services and boost budgets for materials that had been reduced or cut in 2014.

This means that the Library’s Board of Trustees’ initial plan to restore and increase hours of operation can begin to go into effect.

On Sept 9, we will RE-OPEN on Fridays (10am-6pm).
We’ll be celebrating all day on that First Friday with a special outdoor carnival at 4pm.

Meanwhile, we are working our way towards being open on Sundays somewhere down the line, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, along with the increased funding, the Ferndale Library will also be upgrading the public computer workstations in both the adult lab and Kids Corner, ordering more on-demand digital resources (like eBooks, Audiobooks and online learning tools) and organizing more literacy programs for K-12th grade readers.
