Detroit Photography Exhibit Surprises with New Perspectives

July 18 – August 27
Reception: Thursday, August 4 from 6-8 pm.Ferndale Area District Library Art & Exhibition Committee presents an exhibition of photographs by two Detroit artists depicting their unique perspectives of the city.

More than 20 original photographs by J.Gordon Rodwan and Breanna Garvin display the stunning architecture, landscape and visual character of the city. Beauty can be found if one is looking for it. These photographs employ interesting angles and vantage points to shift the viewer’s perceptions of popular city spaces.

August 4th’s Reception will include an Artist’s Talk by J. Gordon Rodwan and his son, John Rodwan, discussing the photographs, poetry, and essays from their book Detroit Is. There will be refreshments and live music by Hueco Tanks.
