Students’ 2D art will be on exhibit at the Ferndale Area District Library from March 14 – April 23, in an exhibition sponsored by the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce.

Students will have their artwork shown in Ferndale exhibitions and compete to have their creations converted into public art. The three top scoring two dimensional (2D) artists will receive a $500 scholarship from the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce, while the two top-scoring three dimensional (3D) artists will be granted a $250 scholarship from the Ferndale Arts and Cultural Commission (FACC).

ART CURRENTLY ON DISPLAY

“The Ferndale Area District Library is thrilled to be a part of the Artist in You program,” says Director Jessica Keyser. “This is a wonderful way for the very talented artists of Ferndale High School to gain exposure in the community, and it is delightful to see the artwork displayed throughout town. The Library strives to be an incubator of creativity and innovation in the community, and this program fits perfectly with that goal.”

The Artist in You is collaboration between the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce, the FACC, and Ferndale Schools with support from the Ferndale Area District Library. Additional sponsorship is provided by the Detroit Art and Business Institute (DABI).
