Analog Lights & D’Coolette @ Ferndale Library for Start HERE Saturday

An ideal autumn’s evening of life musical entertainment awaits you inside the Ferndale Library. Genuine live, loud music inside a library is no longer a novel concept thanks to Start HERE Saturdays, the Ferndale Area District Library’s popular monthly concert series. Fall temperatures are here, but never fear, the library’s got a way to keep you warm; electronic music to get you moving!

D’Coolette, formerly known as Champion of Heat Resistance, and a veteran of the FADL stage, is a one-man band delivering nervous computer rock to all who will listen. The Analog Lights is a solo electronic music project with a distinct songwriter’s voice. Songs and music evoke swirling, chorused-out pop and electro/grunge with a head full of vintage video game sounds. Both bands will be playing a set on Sat. Nov. 7.

This live showcase started in 2010, an initiative to engage the myriad musicians and bands of SE Michigan’s vibrant music scene and invite them into the library’s space to plug-in and perform their songs as loudly as they like and to then invite the community in, for free, and build their fan base.

It’s always an intriguing experience to watch rock bands react to our unique performance space after they’d gotten used to dimly-lit bar and beer-splashed PA’s. Start HERE Saturdays is the live performance aspect of FADL’s long running Local Music Program, preserving sonic bits of local history with a curated collection of more than 300 albums by Michigan musicians.

This is your chance to get loud in a library! If you or anyone you know are interested in playing at one of the Start HERE Saturday events, please fill out this form and Kelly Bennett will get in touch with you soon!
