What kind of book are you REALLY looking for?

Looking for your next great read?  A new feature in the MeL database Books & Authors is both fun and informative when it comes to finding a good book.

With WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN you can browse by selecting any 3 from choices under Character, Subject, Location, and Time Period.  Type or choose from a drop down menu and watch as the database responds with a visual representation of your search terms.

This is an optimal way to focus on exactly what kind of book you feel you’re in the mood for… Hundreds of characters (WHO), activities (WHAT), locations (WHERE), and Time Periods (WHEN) can be combined to reveal titles that fit your personal/selected criteria.

For example, when a MeL staffer searched Alternative Worlds (WHAT), with Michigan (WHERE), and 21st Century AD (WHEN), they found that there was a title that matched all 3 criteria! (Who would have guessed!)  A bonus to this useful search is that the results link to MeLCat so staff and patrons can check availability of their newly discovered treasures.  Michigan residents or Michigan library access only.
