Tune-in To Sweet Sounds From The Past, January 13

Here’s a neat way to get back “into the groove” this new year; an evening dedicated to the 78 rpm vinyl record on Tues., January 13 at 7 PM.

The Ferndale Library’s “Old Time Radio Theatre” program in November was so popular that it made perfect sense to supplement a musical program that harkens back to the sounds of the 30’s & 40’s.

Music enthusiasts, nostalgic old-timers and anyone interested in antiquated technology will likely swoon over the sublime sounds coming from several kinds of vacuum tube powered phonographs. The set-list will include music from the 1930’s and 40’s, collected by our host, a local preservationist who will also answer any questions about the hobby of restoring old audio equipment and vinyl records.

A short history on disk recordings will also be presented. No registration required.
