So, we fancy ourselves to be a bit of a rocking library – We’ve got an exceptional music collection (on CD) -with a substantial portion dedicated to local artists. And, we regularly host live music events (often local indie-rock, hip-hop, electronica, world-music, folk and even freaky hybrids of punk-and-bluegrass).
This May, the Metro Times is throwing its 17th annual Blowout Music Festival – the largest all-local festival of its kind in North America. Until last year, the Fest was mainly hosted down in Hamtramck, but last year, the Metro Times expanded the event to Ferndale: ten of our regular venues hosted individual bills of four bands for three consecutive nights, with attendees gaining all access with wristbands.
This year, Blowout returns to Ferndale! Info HERE
Blowout will simultaneously be hosted by three cities, actually (list of venues here).
The official schedule has not been announced (though you can see a list of the bands announced, so far from the Blowout’s main site). When we line up our bands (Friday May 2nd and Saturday May 3rd), we’ll update our site asap and send the word out!
In the meantime…
