The Future of Used Book stores

Optimistic forecasts tango with dubious inclinations at a large-scale Used Book auction hosted by Lonesome Dove author Larry McMurtry, down in Archer City Texas. The gathering was dubbed the “Last Book Sale…” and it stirred a lot of debate on the future of the Used/Rare-book enterprise in the digital era. –The New York Times reports.

We’ll books go away entirely as we transition, as readers, to our Kindles and Nooks? Did vinyl records go away entirely? As a friend put it…books won’t go away anytime soon: “They decorate your life.”

Why not stop in and shop a bit the next time you’re in the Library?
