Food Drive (for fines) Feb 13 – Feb 25

Repeat: “un-expired!

Lingering library “delinquencies?” Outstanding fines? How many of you have been avoiding a trip back to the library because of some overdues… Now’s your chance to “pay-them-off” while also helping out those in need –  FPL will be accepting donations of non-perishable, unexpired, unopened food items as payment for library fines.

Donations will be given to the Zion Lutheran Church’s Food Pantry for distribution to the needy in the community. Zion Lutheran works in partnership with Gleaners to provide food for the needy. Items cannot be accepted to pay for lost library materials, printing, FAXing or other library services.

We’ve been doing this now for four years and have averaged between 15-20 full boxes worth of non-perishable food item donations. It’s both an expedient and philanthropic way to pay off your book & dvd fines, as well.

Please note: Food items will not be accepted before Feb. 13 or after Feb. 25. During this time, patrons wishing to pay their fines using cash or check may do so.
