Throughout the end of winter and beginning of Spring – Ferndale Library is facilitating the FERNDALE READS series of events – a community-wide “book club” centering on (Michigan-bred/Oregon-based) author Miriam Gershow’s The Local News

In other news -we just got a nice write up in the Woodward Talk, featuring our Winter Book Clubs – – 

Reporter Jeremy Selweski interviews FPL Youth Services Librarian Jillean McCommons – and lays it all out for those curious in participating: “The Book Discoverers club, designed for kindergartners and first-graders, will meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.; the club for second- and third-graders will meet on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.; the fourth- and fifth-grade club will meet on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.; the Tween the Pages club for kids in grades six through eight will meet on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.; and the Teen Remix Book Discussion, designed for students in seventh grade and up, will meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m….”
