Flood Recovery

FPL’s construction management firm has been working inside the library all week. They’ve replaced the drywall and installation damaged by the recent flood.

Here’s a bit of a sad sight – a current look inside the library at where was once our Reference Desk.

“The damaged carpet, drywall, insulation, ceiling tiles, and millwork were removed, and the concrete floors have been dried.”

Unfortunately, an accurate date for re-opening cannot be determined yet – to find out more of the why’s and what’s – please read our update and stay tuned.

In the meantime – continue utilizing your cards varied access ability to other libraries in the area, Oak Park – Royal Oak – Hazel Park (here’s a full list).
