Back to School – College Textbook news

I know we’ve been a little e-book-heavy on the posts lately – but I thought this recent post from the USA Today’s website would be somewhat useful (or at least spur some debate); it regards the feasibility of iPads serving as textbook providers for college students.

Will students be able to cram in those chapters on the Treaty of Marseilles or those essays on John Milton or graphing approaches for algebra when they’re reading off of an eye-splintering computer screen that also has that tempting distraction-link to facebook or youtube?

Maybe instead of the iPad – students could, if lucky enough, experiment with “renting” textbooks. Read the story from the Christian Science Monitor…
