Calling All Bakers! The Bake Sale’s Back this November

Ferndale Public Library Announces Annual Bake Sale Date

Get Your Goodies on Saturday, November 22

The Ferndale Public Library will once again tempt patrons with goodies for a good cause when they hold their long-running annual Bake Sale on Sat. Nov. 22. Proceeds from the Bake Sale will benefit the Library’s Summer Concert Series which has brought exciting and eclectic musical acts, like Soul Explosion, StreetCorner and an Elvis impersonator, to perform at FPL. “The concerts have been a great way to show what the library has to offer,” says Jessica Keyser, Director of the Library. “And we’re able to get some great acts, thanks to the generosity of our volunteer bakers, and of course, to the people who purchase all of the delicious treats.”

“The sale has been an FPL institution for years and years,” says Kelly Bennett, Head of Circulation, who took over running the sale after Patricia Lind, the Library’s former Head of Circulation when she retired. “It’s always been a fun time for staff and patrons.”

“This year, it’s more important than ever,” says Bennett. “With our recent funding cuts, we really need the money the sale brings in to support this popular programming.”

Every year, the sale offers not only the standard cookies, pies and brownies, but also unusual treats like Guinness chocolate cupcakes, savory breads and gluten-free options.

Those hoping for a taste of the famous Mrs. Claus’ jam are in luck; small batches of the sweet stuff have already begun arriving at the library.
